      I never would have thought though that Kuwait is deadlier to the US than Iran.

      About $90-$100M each so $300M of our tax dollars literally up in smoke. At least the pilots are ok, which is good.

      It’s good that the pilots were able to eject safely, at least. The bad news is that it shows a severe lack of preparation and planning on the part of US and regional allies. The fish is rotting from the head-down where corruption is concerned, clearly. Compare the chaos now to when Iran and Israel were exchanging missiles in April of 2024; US forces participated then, and there wasn’t friendly fire like this.

      There are also several reports claiming these were shot down by iranian missiles. Of course we don’t have a way of verifying the truth unless more credible evidence comes up but 3 jets being shot down by friendly fire in a single day does sound a bit ridiculous.

      I really hope those are old and worn out F-15C’s, not planes fresh of the production line. Glad the pilots are okay regardless.

      Yet another lesson in how war is chaos, especially in the modern age. For all of us who like to laugh at the Russians for shooting their own planes down…..behold the amazing notion that all sides make mistakes.

      That’s a strange event. Aren’t Kuwait air defenses also exclusively US-made? I remember reading that this can’t just happen easily, as each aircraft has an ID that air defenses can check to identify if it’s friendly or not.
