    1. Possibly, but the officers we had when I was in (last year) were so incompetent that they probably thought that their opinion had weight at the table, but in reality the yanks just politely let them speak before ignoring them and carrying on. The staff officer got the PAR point for speaking, and thats all they wanted anyway.

I firmly believe that any Canadian speaking or planning anything was appropriately ignored.

Hey, remember when everyone was having hysterical fits over Canadians being involved in „military actions“ in Minnesota (that didn’t actually happen)?

    3. Welp, that’s leaning to one less vote from me then.

There was some momentum with the latest China deal but this is going to kill that if we continue to receive reports of our involvement in this unequivocal travesty.

If they were on exchange, then they were serving in that unit and subject to its orders, unless and until recalled to their home unit.

By exactly the same token, the same exchange program often locates members from other allied nations‘ militaries within our units, during which deployment they are subject to the Canadian commander’s orders.

Of course we did. We’re a country of hypocrites that love to repeat the myth that we’re “nice” when we benefit from Western war crimes as much as anyone. We’re the “West” though so it’s fine, war crimes are allowed for us.

If Carney (today’s version) were PM in 2003 he would have sent troops to Iraq, or at least provided significantly more assistance to the UK and US.
