I completely understand all of this. I’ve ballooned and gone skeletal multiple times in my life. I really do get it. Under a microscope it must be even harder, which I admit I cant understand and won’t try to.

That said, there’s a level of unrecognizable awe I think a lot of people are feeling. It’s like she went in for a buccal fat removal and they only left the necessary tissue for jaw management.

  2. While there have been some cruel comments, the majority of people are truly worried, with good reason. She keeps putting this out there to try to get people to stop mentioning it, but it’s giving telling folks to not believe their lying eyes. She and her mom both truly look like they need treatment. They literally look like there could be fatal consequences if they don’t get treated so her response is not aligning with the issue.

If she said, I know that I have lost too much weight and I am really working on trying to get help and seek treatment, people would be different. But instead, she just keeps trying to bat away anyone talking about what is right in front of their eyes to make them feel bad for mentioning it when folks are really thinking that the woman might not be here in the near future given the way she keeps looking. As in like needing to be checked in somewhere for intense treatment, not going to award shows.

Her mother said a while ago that she herself lost too much weight on a GLP1, but that still doesn’t make sense that over a year later, she has not gained a pound back if she stopped that medication. We all know people taking that, and that is not what we see with them if they stop the shots.

    I hope they are ok.

  3. Been there, after my parents’ died I had trouble eating and then bounced back to eating too much out of boredom/depression. Grief is weird and our brains can be weird and…yeah. I do hope she is talking to someone or something bc she does look worryingly thin – not shaming her or anything, I think most people would be concerned.

Well, this should be your wake up call then. Everyone needs to get their shit together at some point in their lives. It’s your time now.

    We’re not turning our backs.

We’re looking directly at her and saying ,

#*“Holy shit, someone needs to help you!“*

I understand grief and loss, I lost my own mother 3 years ago….

but starving yourself to the point of your skull being visible through your face is not normal.

I know Ozzy wouldn’t want her to do this.

That’s why you should be getting help instead of going to awards shows!

Well rest assured, she’s not going to have much of a body to shame if she continues on this path.

I wish concern for someone’s health would stop being blankety labeled as “body-shaming.” There are certain undeniable indicators of poor health. It’s hard-wired into our brains.

You’re sad we get it, but you look like something they used to scare kids with to get them to eat their vegetables. Goddamn eat a cheeseburger for fucks sake.

We’ve overcorrected from body shaming into toxic body positivity which now teeters on the edge of eating disorders, and if you so much as comment on it you’re labeled evil and disrespectful. I am sorry for what she’s going through and am sympathetic to people who have experienced trauma and bullying, but I refuse to normalize what people like Kelly and Ariana Grande are doing to themselves. I’m in my 30s and I remember how toxic pro-ED tumblr was during my teens, I can’t imagine the message teens are getting from all of this.

I don’t think people are being cruel; I think a lot of people are worried about her. I know Kelly was open about having an eating disorder, and I know that even when you work on getting help, it can’t fully go away, and you can relapse. There is a chance that is what happened here, and it would make sense since her father died recently. I think people are more worried about her than anything, and think she should focus on getting better. She doesn’t need to be in the public eye right now. I wouldn’t blame her if she took a break from social media and public appearances.

This is coming from someone who struggles with body image and mental health: I’m worried about Kelly. I want her to get the help she needs.

  12. I feel for Kelly. Mean comments are never helpful, but when someone looks rail thin, well past the point of healthy, concern is definitely warranted.

She is not being body shamed. She looks very unwell and people are worried. It’s like Karen Carpenter and watching her shrink away into nothing.

  14. I think she’s doing the same thing Kate Beckinsale is doing.

Beckinsale will post a photo of herself in a bikini, wait for the comments, and then post a video where she pours out her heart about how much pain she’s in because of her parents‘ deaths. It’s done under the guise of berating people for cruelty, but it’s all a cry for help.

Ok but her and Sharon were getting into weird looking territory before Ozzy died?

  16. The majority of comments I have seen about her are more of concern rather than body shaming, she needs help!… Syd!

Kelly, we aren’t talking about ten fucking pounds here. It looks like you’re shooting for lead extra in Schindler’s List.

  18. It was like this with Ariana. The buzz, good or bad, is because people care about the individual.

She’s clearly stated and confirmed that she is going through the hardest time in her life. She needs genuine help.

It’s not cruelty, she’s openly in public, looks like she’s terminally ill. Hopefully, she has a therapist & medical team but I doubt it

  20. eloquent_owl on

Why does she pose at public events if she can’t handle people’s reactions then.
Very sad to see her looking this malnourished. If nobody said anything it would also be weird.

I feel bad for her. She looks terrible now, and she used to be so pretty

  22. Jimmy_83_Don on

I hope family members aren’t too frightened of her acid tongue to stage an intervention.

  23. MixGroundbreaking622 on

People need to be calling this out though. She looks unwell and we can’t normalise this. It’s not about her directly, it’s about the message it sends others.

Look, i’m sorry but Kelly and Sharon Osbourne are the uber bullies of TV and both have been extremely well paid to be nasty about others appearances. The hypocrisy of Kelly of all people telling people to back off about her appearance when she was the ultimate mean girl on Fashion Police is astounding.

She has looked like this for ages so using her Dad as an excuse is just vomit inducing. Just own it Kelly, like your Mom you have always wanted to be this thin regardless of whether it looks good or healthy. They have both paid huge amounts of money to look like this and honestly its all a part of their grift.
