  1. also,

    it may be noted,

a number of countries in Europe refuse to recognize it.

England, Ukraine, Estonia, Spain, & Balkans, (except Bulgaria).

& some countries (the „brothers“ Pakistan, Turkey, Azerbaijan) DENY it.

  2. Deir ez-Zor, a city and its rural surrounding is a fertile and prosperous farming area, with livestock-breeding cereals and cotton crops, was the final destination of the deported Armenians. I don’t believe there was a annihilation center there.

Unfortunately, like many other victims of war, suitable conditions were not available for Armenian deportees.

    Genocide denial mantra:

    1) It never happened
    2) It doesn’t matter
    3) It is victim’s fault

Turkey should be held responsible for this. Also for what they are doing with Kurds today.

  5. I share the truth in response to propaganda posts, so that at least those who are curious about the truth can be informed. They are trying to create a fabricated genocide to hide their own dark past.

A French report states that there were between 1.2 and 1.3 million Armenians in the Ottoman Empire at the time.

There’s a census conducted by the invading forces in the Ottoman Empire after this report, and it confirms the report. It turns out there were 1.2 million Armenians. It was said that 150,000 of these could be from different ethnic groups affiliated with the Armenian church.

The destinations of these Armenians are already recorded in immigration records to America, Russia, and Europe.

However, 100,000 Armenians chose to remain in the Ottoman Empire.

  6. The UN has not recognized this deportation as genocide due to a lack of evidence; for that, solid proof would be needed that the state intended to exterminate the Armenians. The UN remains for its indecision on this issue, just as it has been regarding the fate of the Turks of Armenia (now extinct). The number of deaths is impossible to quantify. Armenia cites the figure of 1.5 million deaths, but this refers to the number of Armenians living in the Ottoman Empire. The diaspora, numbering 10 million, descends from this original population, and many Armenians in Armenia are also descended from these 1.5 million Ottoman Armenians.

I don’t understand why Armenians insist so much on this subject, because Turkey can also address the fate of the Turks in Armenia: before the arrival of the Russians, Turks were the majority (Khanat of Yerevan); Today they represent 0%: this is the biggest demographic (ethnic) change that a Eurasian country has experienced (even the creation of Israel did not cause such a demographic upheaval in Palestine).

Funny how people are already jumping at conclusions about what the official stance of the government and Turks in general have on this. The official stance has never denied the death of anywhere between 600.000-1.500.000 Armenians. It is considered a series of massacres, deportations and a form of ethnic cleansing.

If you have any visceral reaction to me saying this because it doesn’t match with the made up scenario in your head, you are more than welcome to check the [wikipedia page](https://tr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ermeni_Kırımı) in Turkish for basic starters with whatever translater you have on your hand to help you read.

Where we diverge is this incident being designated as genocide. It is considered a result of incompetence, indiscipline and logistical failure on behalf of the government and the officials then.

With the consistent actions of several Armenian organizations, particularly [ASALA](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armenian_Secret_Army_for_the_Liberation_of_Armenia), it is abundantly clear to us that the intent is not rooted in sympathy for any innocent deaths, but rather in monetary and possibly territorial compensation to Armenia from Turkey.

Turkey (Ottomans) in the years during and shortly after WWI, committed genocide against the Armenians, Greeks, and Assyrians. They also nearly committed another genocide against the jews during WWI, this shortly after what they did to the Armenias, before being talked out of it by their German allies and the American foreign ambassador

One of the other things not talked about enough, was the Ottomans(Turkey) use of the Kurds in helping to carry out the Armenian genocide. Only for them to wage what seems like a neverending battle against the kurds today

  10. According to the Turks, this never happened. While there’s proof. Not a little, but 100%. Some (especially politicians) still get angry when you bring it up for discussion. Instead of admitting it. The current Turk can’t help it, can he?
