      Question: Were the terms that you accepted the same ones Anthropic rejected?

      Sam Altman: No, we had some different ones. But our terms would now be available to them (and others) if they wanted.

      Question: Will you turn off the tool if they violate the rules?

      Sam Altman: Yes, we will turn it off in that very unlikely event, but We believe the U.S. government is an institution that does its best to follow law and policy. What we won’t do is turn it off because we disagree with a particular (legal military) decision. **We trust their authority.**

      I totally understand the boycott movement. But realistically where is this going? If it wasn’t Anthropic, or OpenAI, it would be another AI company. And if not another AI company, the government would hire people to develop an AI system for the Pentagon. And if not America, another country (probably China). It feels like it’s too little too late.

      Funny that in one reply he says he doesn’t know what terms/offer Anthropic received and then in another be says they got different terms from the DoW and only now are those terms available to Anthropic (i.e weren’t available to them prior to the OpenAI arrangement).

      Altman is lying to everyone’s faces except Trump and his Admin (altho I’d suggest he may also be lying to them too). These people are all snakes and I mean that in the biblical sense.

      To follow law and policy…yea sure that’s why Trumps list of what laws and policies he broke is about 300 or something…als the Iran strikes were not decided through congress again… this is so corrupt

      For everyone jumping in — this isn’t about “hating AI” or being anti‑innovation. I’m all for building powerful systems and even deploying them in real‑world defense scenarios responsibly. The problem is who’s driving the bus.

      Dario and Daniela Amodei stirred the pot, and now Sam Altman’s running in to turn the fallout into a business opportunity. It’s not leadership — it’s pure opportunism masquerading as “vision.”

      We’ve seen this cycle before: hype, money, moral theater, repeat. The same few people preach “ethics” while selling access to the highest bidder. That’s not shaping the future — that’s auctioning it off.

      Whether you support AI escalation or not, at least call out the hypocrisy.

      Because the only thing more dangerous than weaponized AI… is weaponized ego.
