Iran started this war on 10/7/23 with a surprise attack on the west by its puppet paramilitary, Hamas. Iran started this war after 20 years of detailed planning and positioning of Hezbollah and its own forces.

10/7 was Iran’s “Peal Harbor”. Everything that followed – the Gaza War, the war against Hezbollah in Lebanon, the fall of Assad, the strikes last June in Iran proper – resulted from the war that Iran declared against the west on 10/7.

Trump is just mopping up a tottering regime that is ready to fall. Iran has been murdering thousands of protesters because the regime is ready to collapse and is desperate. Neither the U.S. nor Israel wish to occupy Iran, so the goal is clear: regime change. That won’t take “forever”, but in any event, Iran was already in a forever war with the west to begin with, and there is no point in sitting around waiting for another surprise 10/7.
