Source: https://kworb.net/spotify/artists.html, sorted by daily, only showing top 3.000 artists, if that country doesn’t have an artist in the top 3.000 it doesn’t show up in the charts.

Requirements to be considered part of that country: Be born in the country or grow up and start your career in it.

Example: Alan Walker was born in the UK but moved at age 2 to Norway, where he has lived ever since, counts as Norwegian

Example 2: Dua Lipa was born in the UK and hasn’t moved to Albania and she started her career in the UK. Counts as British.

Example 3: Quevedo was born in Spain but moved at age 2 to Brazil and returned at age 6 to Spain, counts as Spanish.

Benjamin fucking Blümchen? What’s his hit single called, „Töröö“?

Inna was famous in Greece too in the early 2010s. Wonder what happened to her ?

  4. The only relatively big Swiss artist I can think of right now is Manon of Katseye but I guess multinational groups wouldn’t be represented!

  5. False data.

Ogryzek is a Polish producer creating Brazilian phonk and he has 6.3 million monthly listeners.

Russia has bunch of bigger artists than a century old Tshaikovsky, for example Miyagi with 1.5 million monthly listeners

Wow, Europe’s creative juices really stopped flowing by the time popular music was invented.

Could you make a timeline listing the date of each artist’s most popular work with the flags of each european nation?

    Töröö forever!

I found some pre recorded tapes of „Benjamin Blümchen“ from the 80s recently. They were in rough shape, but still have enough Töröö left!

Edit: At least „enough“ at maximum volume.

They should’ve counted just the local listeners, Russian local musicians are disadvantaged. (Well, every other non anglophone country’s too)

They have no way of knowing what CDs I listen to (never used Spotify)

it makes sense too! I’m not gonna be annoyed if Benjamin Blümchen comes on when I’m at a shopping centre

  13. Weird Moldova is included but Portugal, Greece, Switzerland etc aren’t.
Surely they’ve produced artists with more than 0.5M listeners on Spotify.

Also, more people need to listen to Dragostea Din Tei to get O-Zone back to #1 for Moldova.
