    1. It is a better deal for the shareholders. It is an expensive deal for Paramount. They need to recoup their investment. Also Paramount is under, shall we say, political influence.
All this does not bode well for employees or creative freedoms at Warner. Costs must be cut and political risks minimized.

Someone should do the dollar-cost of every WTF decision this schmuck has made.

Maybe YOU are David, but the regular employees will be fucked. Oh, and so will journalistic integrity.

No American should be stoked that a megalomaniacal autocrat put his hands on the scale to move more media power to his sycophants.

State media will now run yet another major news network, a major studio with multiple tv networks, and a propaganda platform created to influence children.

RIP to reeves Batman trilogy, part two might be the last DC movie we get. Also RIP gunns DCU 😭

The fun part is — the company is its employees. Not the money in the bank, not the property — intellectual or physical, not anything else. A company is a sum of its employees. And if the employees leave en masse, there’s no more company. If that happens with WBD, the Paramount deal would be a flop long remembered.

The shareholders would be screwed big time, for sure.

They’re never going to recoup this investment. Not in this changing media landscape. Lots of layoffs are incoming.

Of course they’re shocked. Employees look at this through the eyes of people who need a place to work and feed their families and will probably get laid off

Zazlav sees it as a victory from a guy whose only job is to increase shareholder value before he hops into his golden parachute and jumps to his next multi-million dollar paycheck.

Genuinely hope *everyone* walks out and they implode Paramount with them. Let Daddy Larry put infinite money into the furnace for the Diaper King if he wants.

    10. Zaslav is the reason we didn’t get a conclusion to Westworld nor Raised by Wolves. I’ll never forgive him for that.

He obviously doesn’t care for the art. Only money.

    11. „I was hired by the shareholders to tank this turd and sell it off. Ima gonna be rich, baby! Sorry, not sorry, about all of your jobs.“ – Zaslav

This is absolutely terrible for WB employees but hopefully enough of them have stock options that will fully vest.

The debt load associated with this deal will means the company will collapse.

    14. Just. Don’t. Watch. Here are some things to NOT watch:

Key Companies and Assets in the Combined Portfolio:

Film & Television Studios: Paramount Pictures, Warner Bros. Pictures, Skydance Animation, Television, and Interactive/Games.

Broadcast & Cable Networks: CBS (including CBS News/Sports), HBO, CNN, TNT, TBS, Cartoon Network/Adult Swim, Turner Classic Movies, Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central, BET, CMT, HGTV, Food Network, TLC, Discovery.

Streaming Platforms: Paramount+, Max, Pluto TV, BET

    15. I worked at WBD while Zaslav was in charge and all I can say is, this is not his first tone deaf statement to employees and I’m sure it won’t be the last.
