      A lot of the programs the military was participating in were in International Affairs. The Trump administration is blaming the ban on “woke” practices, but that does not necessarily reflect what is actually being taught. They do not approach IR from a strictly liberal perspective. In many cases, their studies are likely to more closely align with current U.S. foreign policy thinking than anything at these elite institutions.

      They are also encouraging more military personnel to attend public universities, but that does not automatically mean those schools are less “woke.” In some cases, certain departments may be more liberal at a public university than at an Ivy league.

      So many veterans came to Brown through the Resumed Undergrad program after their service. Some really great people. Guess no more, at least for now.

      This is deeply concerning and represents a dangerous slide toward anti-intellectualism that we’ve seen from authoritarian movements throughout history. The Pentagon blocking military personnel from attending prestigious universities is essentially punishing service members for seeking higher education at institutions that promote critical thinking. It’s particularly hypocritical given that many current and former military leaders, including Trump appointees, are themselves products of these same elite institutions. This policy will ultimately weaken our military by creating an educational glass ceiling that prevents our most dedicated service members from accessing world-class education and bringing those skills back to serve our country.

      They really don’t want military generals who can think for themselves. Our military will look like Russia’s in 10 years… Full of incompetent yes men who will do what what they are told. Then when all their troops get turned into pink mist, that general will fall out of a window and will be replaced with another yes man who is just as bad.

      Just curious, but does this work the other way around? Kids attending these schools can’t join the military… or say get drafted?

      I just saw a clip today of Henry Rollins saying the only way out of our current situation is through education. It makes sense this regime is hellbent on the destruction of it.
