Greece fell bellow Eastern European countries while being a member of the EU for almost 50 years.

Romania overtook Hungary and Slovakia, wow. Russia being on par is also surprising

Russia being so much above Belarus is suscpicious. Both countries enjoy very similar standard of living and public services. I think Russian rouble’s ppp conversion factor is somehow wrongly calculated, perhaps due to to lack of realiable statistical data since the war started.

Dayum, Poland already overtook the Spain by ppp.
Their growth along with the fact that its not showing signs of slowing down really is amazing.

I remember long time ago, it was projected that Poland will catch up to Spain by ppp by around 2030. Everyone at the time pointed that it will be almost impossible for them to keep growth consistent and pretty much whole west EU doubted it.

And fuck me, some 10-15 years later here it is. It happened almost half a decade before the projections (In last couple of years projections moved closer to 2026 though).

Every time I see a map of GDP per capita PPP being upvoted, I die inside.

Fun facts about PPP, Russia and Turkey are close to overtaking Japan and will do so by 2030 should current trends continue.
