It will be interesting to see if these get put to use, though I doubt it. You’ll end up causing problems if you interfere in the nominations of anybody but the most despised MPs, like Brad Trost or Chandra Arya.
The ONDP played gamed with these back in 2022, and it did far larger damage to the party than was realised.

I think it is antithetical to proper democracy that **any** politicians can be nominated by the central party.
It erodes local constituency representation, which is supposed to be a key way to ensure local issues are reflected in whomever is nominated to represent them.
It also reduces the agency of these individuals and is long-term poison to a party’s membership and volunteer cohorts.
