China has come here to catch fish and encroach on sovereign territory … and they’re all out of fish.

  2. >China Deploys Thousands of Fishing Boats off Japan’s Coast, and They Are Not There to Fish

Read this in the movie trailer guys voice

  3. Something fishy going on here…….

But seriously, how many fisherman does it take to change a lightbulb? One……….but you shoulda seen the lightbulb, it was HUGE

They will go bankrupt fast. What a stupid way to run a shipping boat business.

  5. Presumably the crews of said fishers are not navy, so are they just civiilians banded together for what incentive? Paramilitary? Contracted?

  6. Could you imagine the number of drones you could launch from a fishing boat?

  7. Loose_Skill6641 on

This is basically a military exercise in another countries internationally recognised territorial waters using civilian unmarked vessels to claim ignorance

Just hire pirates and say “wish we could do something about those pirates, shame those aren’t our boats…”

  9. A little digging will turn up the detention of a single Chinese fishing boat from this fleet. Japan chased down, impounded the vessel, and arrested the Captain. This boat had wandered into Japan’s EEZ. They eventually released them but the message was very clear.

Xi had balls drug across his face….. Again. Don’t expect to see more Iron Wall drills. This entire Chinese bluff / take the heat off of Putin strategy, ended up as a fleet of Fail Boats.

Each one will launch ten one-way attack drones and leave behind ten mines if war breaks out. Hybrid warfare BS.

Lol what’s new China and Japans relationship makes no sense…

  12. China is already leveraging civilian vessels for the military (the RORO ferries), now this. While I’m sure it’s just a harassment campaign, it’s still a disturbing thought.

Swarms of fishing boats launching drones or using other weapons.

its a grey navy and they are there to provoke, spy and intrude. they may or not be armed .
their cost guard is HEAVILY armed as well, full fledged frigates with full spectrum armament.

this is not new , its typical chinese hybrid warfare tactics.

if japan reacts , they are being aggressive and warrants „retaliation“ economic or otherwise.

if japan does nothing then they push it more and encroach more until..what? they have effectively blockaded the island. And then what?

all this to do WHAT? cause in todays world , with the usa not such a great ally , with russia proving that that these acts DO escalate into full blow invasion and war crimes , with the country that cannot be named committing genocide etc etc WHERE does japan go from this kind of aggression?

China wants a fight, is planning for a war and is NOW testing the limits of what it can obtain, what the resources and cost of it will be. if they are not stopped we will have another Ukraine right here in asia.

I might have to do some digging tonight to see when the last time a country used it’s fishing fleet as a military asset.

  15. China forgot what it looks like when Japan decides they wanna fight?

Y’all ever had a friend that’s super cool, but when there’s a fight they take it WAY too far?

  16. Everything they do is so childish and immature and no one of them people ever thinks what they are doing is dumb is what feels extremely entertaining to me.

So does that mean the Philippines gets a break from these fishing boats or are they now doing it in both places?

Can also be used as interference for sonar tracking.
China is taking advantage of a distracted American military with terrible leadership.

They are staging to invade Tiawan.
The fishing fleet will be used as disposable blockade for any other naval ships.
My guess is they loaded the boats with explosives. Drone pilot them into on coming warships. Then a swarm of thoisands of little drones come crashing in to finish off the left overs.

China can rebuild that flotilla in a few years, vs gaining control of Tiawan because they booby trapped the East China Sea.

Looks like Japan needs to create a new artificial reef with all those boats.

Japan is not going to take shit from China.
If China wants to prove that the days of the zerg rush are done and over with they are off to a good start.
Japan gets almost all of the tech the US comes up with. And then they put their own spin on it.

And if you look at the rising tide of nationalism in Japan that tide usually bodes ill for China.

  22. i mean, if china ever decides to exact revenge for ww2 era nonsense, could be bad for japan.
