According to the article Luas staff are expected to transfer to the new company. I hope they won’t be kept waiting too long.
Wonder why, they did a good job

Wow that’s pretty big. Bit of an impact to french pensions
After living abroad where its the city councils operating public transport, why have we privatized heavy-light rail? and even intercity bus routes in a small enclosed island country?
There’s no competitive market with rail or road networks, there’s one destination, you cant choose between a different tram carriage company at a stop or a different rail line going from the same point A to B. Its just a natural monopoly if ever there was one
Wow, the anti-trans agenda really getting out of control /s
I’ve always found the Luas to be exceptionally reliable. Some additional security staff wouldn’t go amiss though.
Used the Luas every day for 16 years for college and work. A great system and very reliable, and when it does have issues it tends to be out of their control. Here’s hoping the new operators can keep up the good work!
100% the luas service will get worse.
Hopefully it stays the same as it always was, free to use.
Here’s an article about the successful bidder being fined several million pounds for poor service: https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/politics/trains-transport-wales-keolis-amey-17539543
The party is over for the drivers here. New sheriff in town.
22 years?
