The more I deal with „smart“ appliances, the less I want to have anything to do with them. I have a bathroom scale which can’t fully be used without bloody Bluetooth. Why can’t it just give me my weight?

In an article in The Atlantic a few weeks ago, Jason Fried wrote about how a „smart home“ he rented for his parents turned into an ordeal which caused more work than it saved.

Can he control one of those over to my place and vacuum for me?
