    1. I don’t think we should have another country’s separatist movement operating on our soil. We wouldn’t take particularly kindly to Canadians who have moved south who would advocated for the „51st state“, and I don’t see how this is all that different. We treat this movement with kid gloves due to political considerations, despite the fact that they are responsible for the deadliest terrorist attack in Canadian history, and worship the perpetrator of it.

Ultimately though, this whole problems seems to derive from the Indian government thinking this movement is more relevant than it actually is. Nobody in their government is particularly competent, so they like to shift the blame elsewhere for their problems.

Yea the threat isn’t over but these days politics is all about votes. Chinese spy vehicles coming to Canada, welcome! Trading with India who kills Canadians, welcome.

CSIS isn’t even being heard anymore and hasn’t been in a long time.

Remember liberals freaking out when Harper was signing the TPP, oh man he’s selling out Canada to China. Now it’s all oh I want to drive a Chinese EV that rusts in 4 years, I love environmentalism and China!

    3. We have free speech in this country. Quebec and Alberta separatists are allowed to organize and share their views as long as they stay peaceful. We can’t deny those same rights to Sikh separatists.

At the same time, we want trade and access to India’s market, but not at the cost of our sovereignty. India (or any other country) doesn’t get to tell us what speech is allowed here or pressure us to change our laws because they dislike certain views.

The answer here isn’t to limit rights. It’s to strengthen our national security so we can stop any foreign interference, while continuing to pursue trade in a clear-eyed and practical way.

Why are Sikh activists saying anything while in Canada exactly? Why are you bringing your bullshit here?

If you want to be an activist and push for an independence movement you probably shouldn’t be living thousands of kilometres away.

    5. Calling the India threat over is idiotic. Their government MURDERED a Canadian citizen on Canadian soil. Suspected of political interference. I know we need trade, but not considering them a threat is idiotic and incredibly wrong.

He’s just trying to smooth things over. We need to trade with India now more than ever. I’m sure we’ll take the same approach as with China. The trade deal is what important let’s see how the diplomatic reset goes

    7. Can we ask these people to focus on Canada and the issues we face ? How does starting a civil war or a seperatist movement in another country solve any of our problems today ? Infact it would lead to an exodus of millions of people seeking refuge or asylum. If it wasnt for these clowns we would have already had a trade agreement instead of having to waiting another year or 2 for trade to increase.

    8. That’s cos the person in the article here is a known kalistani

Majority of sikhs in India want nothing to do with this gang
