Don’t for a moment think that you can get away with a false flag operation, Viktor. Europe is watching.

    2. I expect a false flag operation and the declaration of a state of emergency to steal the election.

Translation: Orban is organising a false flag just before elections to scare local population with “Ukraine is attacking”.

    4. „Fearing Ukrainian operation, Orbán…“

Oh come on, what kind of bullshit is that

    5. CaptchaSolvingRobot on

Maybe a false flag operation is on the way to benefit Orbans election and hurt Ukraine.

„Fearing Ukrainian operation“, like hell he is.

Why the fuck would you phrase the title like that?

Ukraine attacking Hungary would be a political suicide speedrun world record. I won’t tell them what to do with their troops but personally I wouldn’t worry too much.

    8. Standard authoritarian playbook: Invent a crisis coming from abroad so that you can later attack your own people.

Case in point: A certain Donald Trump claiming that Canada was a threat to the US, using that as a pretext to encourage a war footing that would later be used to justify the deployment of forces in your own country.

Oddly enough, those domestic threats came from locations that voted for your opponent…

False flag, he knows he is cooked in the next election, and he is just planting the seeds of doubt to blame Ukraine for his failure as head of state.

    10. It’s political posturing trying to frighten people into voting for him. He’s terrified of losing the election. He knows he will need to flee to Moscow when he does lose

    11. He does *not* fear that. He wants voters to fear it.

He has 15 days left and he’s underwater. This is panic.

    12. What he fears is an informed populace and Putin’s wrath prior to an election, not “UkRaNiAn OpEraTions”

Ah yes because that makes sense.

Is there anyone in Hungary stupid enough to actually believe this or do the sycophants obviously know its bullshit but are just happy to go along with it because fascisim?

    14. Wow, so the Hungarians, right up to an election will witness their own PM blowing up one of their own power stations and then try and blame it on Ukraine… as if Ukraine is blowing up Russian energy-industry to hurt Hungary, not cripple the Russian economy.

Siege mentality fear mongering is so typical for right wing „leaders“. It’s hard to belive someone sane would fall for that.

not to be too conspiratorial here but that smells like setting the stage

    17. I think what he really fears is the result of the election and he’s ready to go to war with Ukraine to void it and please his Russia master at the same time.

You know if Hungary is in danger maybe NATO should deploy some troops to Hungary for its protection like a good ally does, we can even ensure that there’s a big ring of steel around Orbán’s palace so that no one gets in and no Orbán gets out

    19. fritofrito77 on

Yes, Ukraine has too many resources to waste on Hungary. They just don’t know what to do with all this military stuff laying around!

    20. European countries should offer Hungary a defence force. He will decline of course, making it obvious he isn’t actually worried about an attack.

    21. MaplewoodRabbit on

Obviously we all know those pesky, war mongering Ukrainians have nothing else going on back home so they are definitely looking to spice things up in another country and opening up a new front. Of course, who wouldn’t suspect those crafty perogies to scheme such a scheme. They have so much free time on their hands right now! /s
