No one is asking for movies about Spider-Man villains without Spider-Man.

  2. To quote TFS Cell: “Okay, but why though?”

You know what amazes me is that they get all this money from Disney licensing Spider-Man and they just never think to go look for the next “The Boys” or “Invincible” or “Umbrella Academy”

There is a wide variety of other companies utilizing indie comics to make something popular. Look at everything Image, Darkhorse, and Boom studios put out that couldn’t make for a whole new universe they could build utilizing Spider-Man licensing funds.

Please please stop making Spider-Man movies. Seriously. The number of people that have been a Spider-Man between live action and animated is too much. And now there will be some side crap with nick cage as a show. Give it up. Wait a bit. Do something else for a bit. Wait before you reboot, the suit is still warm for gods sake.

  4. It’s a writing thing plus obscure character thing.

    Their writing is truly terrible.

“They made ANOTHER Spider-Man (not about Spider-Man)? God what is there left to say?”

  6. Or..,,just don’t. Give up trying and let the rights go back to Marvel Studios.

I’m not mad at the new spider-noir with Nicolas Cage, looks interesting.

Sony should just wave the white flag and sell the rights back to Disney. It’s not going to work. They’re just gonna set more money on fire for more box office poison.

Just strike a deal with Marvel Studios to have them take over production and give Sony a bigger cut. This is embarassing at this point.

And Venom 3 was a missed oppurtunity for a TASM cross-over.

  10. Hope they flop so bad they go bankrupt. All these properties just need to go back to Marvel.

I’m all for dumping 30 Seconds to Mars and and whatnot, but all of these flicks were terrible on purpose right?

I want a JJJ movie with J.K. Simmons. Make Sam Raimi direct. Box office phenomenon.

At some point the money lost in flops will outgross the money earned from the Marvel deal. Give it another 10 minor villain movies.

  14. They have so many video game properties, why can’t they focus on that and leave Spider-Man to marvel

New Morbius film with Jared Leto returning, directed by Tommy Wiseau. It shows how Spider-Man and Morbius are tied to “The Room” universe

Trying to make Spider-Man-type movies with his villains without Spider-Man was the silliest idea a franchise has had in a while.

There are plenty of characters and stories that Sony could utilise for a spin-off that wouldn’t even require Peter Parker anyway: a Blade Runner-esque Spider-Man 2099, an R-rated comedy like the Superior Foes of Spider-Man comic (Literally just call Seth Rogan), a low-budget heist movie with Black Cat (You can even tie her father into Uncle Ben’s death if you want. It’s been done before). Get Raimi to make a Spider-Girl movie in his universe.

Hell, send a dump truck of money to Emma Stone’s house and get an Amazing Spider-Gwen movie made. Marc Webb ain’t busy.

  17. Sony can fuck off. They’re ultimately **intentionally** releasing underfunded slop to just keep the Spiderman IP so Marvel can’t take over.
