      I mean, that’s how politics is supposed to work, no?

      You sit down with stakeholders, hear out their case, and proceed if reasonable.

      „Lobby“ isn’t a bad word. It’s how governments prioritize. You can’t sit down with every single Canadian and hear them out.

      I find it hard to believe that gas powered AI centers are even economically viable. Renewable energy is just cheaper once the infrastructure is there. You’d be better off building these in Quebec or Washington state for their hydro energy I’d think? It’s a similar reason for why the US can’t just replace our aluminum production domestically

      We shouldn’t be rushing to subsidize data centres for US tech giants. We need to be building our own tech giants. Otherwise we just become a cheap landlord while others keep getting rich off of us.
