According to the article it will be delivered via UN Agencies instead of directly to the Cuban Government.
I am still curious as to what kind of food aid is being delivered, is it livestock/drought-resistant crop seeds? It’s fascinating to me to look at the difference between short/medium/long-term aid packages.

I love the fact that Canada is offering such support on the world stage.
I just wish we would offer the same level of financial support to our own citizens that are for many cases out of their own control, unhoused, unemployed, and out of options.
Someone who has worked their entire life, and reached retirement age. Shouldn’t have to choose between eating, and keeping some sort of safe roof over their head with their fixed income.
Americans are crying communism but in reality, Cuba is just trying to get by with what they have. I think the best course of action Canada can take is to tell the US to back off and we’ll keep an eye on them. Then again, that would require a sane, rational US president…

Cuban here, this does not help or support the people of my country. It allows the regime to remain in power. The best outcome for the cuban people is the absolute and total collapse of the dictatoriship and unfortunatly outside of a military intervention to remove them the only option is economic strangulation, the people of Cuba are indeed suffering and in dire need if basic necesisties, but when all options are bad, we have to take the least bad.
People who are not cubans commenting, please understand that the majority of cubans wish to be free and it is a very small minority that support the regime.
MOST OF YOU ARE FREE! And most cubans support the actions taken by the current US government.
