Do they mean the terrorist activity Russia is conducting in Ukraine? Because Telegram has been facilitating it since the beginning, with no efforts from Durov to stop it.
Thats the thing about working for these like Putin and Trump. Its not only immoral and inhumane. They will also turn on you as soon as you outlive your usefulness.

A criminal investigation that will result in no charges but will give credibility to the narrative of Durov being for „privacy above everything else “ and „against the Russian regime “ .

I worked in Russia for about a month pre-pandemic. From my conversations with Russians in Kazan, Telegram is banned there, but to those who want news that isn’t heavily censored – Telegram is what they use.
It’s obvious that that’s a huge reason as to why the RF are looking to charge Durov over Telegram.
Also fun fact; any platform that doesn’t hand its data over to the Russian Government is banned, so LinkedIn and Spotify were also banned.
That said; I personally do believe something needs to be done about Telegram. It’s great that it can provide uncensored news to people living in countries with less than free media, but it’s riddled with CSAM and drugs marketplaces and whatnot.
