That’s why he’s having a meltdown right now. The president doesn’t listen to Supreme Court but U.S Customs do.

So the American people just end up paying more taxes? How is this „getting tired of winning“ for them ?

Do steel and lumber still have tarfits? We’re they reduced to the 15% worldwide tarfits?

    4. So here’s a few facts.

Trumps 2025 budget included major income tax cuts. He was vocal about how his tariff revenues would offset the tax cuts as well as claiming it would be the sellers paying the tariffs (lol).

The Supreme Court has now decided he cannot use the IEEPA to claim emergency and unilaterally levy tariffs on nations.

He’s now using a different legal method to replace those lost tariffs with a much less targeted form of tariff that allows him to apply a non selective import tariff of up to 15% (Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974). This method allows him to unilaterally apply this tariff for up to 150 days.

Congress can vote to extend these tariffs once the 150 days are up. Republicans in the house and senate have broken ranks to vote for a motion to repeal tariffs on Canada.

150 days from the February 24 takes us to mid July. So congress will either have to vote to extend a non selective 15% surcharge on ALL imports into the USA (exceptions exist for free trade agreement goods) OR they will need to find a replacement revenue stream for those lost tariff revenues in order to keep the previous tax cuts. This will happen as midterm election season is in full swing.

Conclusion: the US is in for a spicy summer.

    5. Maybe they could make more money by not pissing off the entire world and literally driving away business from their country. I mean countries are realizing there are so many other trading partners other than the USA and they don’t have to be treated like crap and threatened.

I can’t imagine how stressful it must be if you are a supply chain manager in the USA right now.
