      >The premier appeared again on CNN on Monday as part of his drive to convince American voters and elected officials to lobby on Canada’s and Ontario’s behalf.

      >It’s a strategy the provincial government has been pursuing for more than a year without yet seeing movement on tariffs. Ford has cancelled a contract with Elon Musk’s Starlink, removed American alcohol from the LCBO and visited Washington D.C.

      Oh oh. Dougies[ helping again.](https://x.com/brianlilley/status/2026015690331680869)

“There’s going to be the midterms. I’ve never seen so many Canadians all cheering on the Democrats.”

The buttons on Fords jacket look much stronger than Ontario’s economy.

    3. Antagonizing the US administration , while sounding good, will only lead to more retaliatory actions that hurt the Ontario economy, its people, and Canada . Sigh

    4. Doug, we don’t care about mid terms. We actually don’t give a flying fuck anymore about the US. Do something about your province and stop hoping a Democrat saves the day because they won’t. There’s a Republican right around the corner again.

Considering how much Trump seems to be able to do without Congress approval and the crazy high bar it is to actually remove him from office I am honestly not sure that mid-term will change much.

This guy has to shut up and stop talking about the USA. He’s talking like a spurned boyfriend.

    8. Well, tariffs imposed by the US government were paid by US importers. There was no indication that Canadian producers dropped their prices to compensate. I don’t think he’s talking about a refund for the counter-tariffs imposed by Canada because that was voluntary. Point is, it’s a nonsensical thing to say unless your goal is a cheap and disposable sound bite.
