the first chorus was a bit disappointing, but i think it’s interesting how they went with two different choruses and combined them at the end

    2. WTFFFFFFFF THAT WAS MASSIVE. it’s like LOVE DIVE through the lens of I AM I teared up

    3. Didn’t feel the chorus, especially the first one. Loved everything else (well almost everything else)

Bop, the luxurious feel is crazy

Edit- if they have a music show encore with Blackhole, its going to go viral with Liz & Yujins vocal lines.

The switch up in this song surprised me, especially the second chorus. I think my favourite part is the pre chorus, I just loved how it sounds. I like how it’s very Ive and as someone who enjoyed I Am, I’m glad it’s not I Am 3.0 (I love Rebel Heart tho). Not a big fan of the mv tho, it’s nice but not as good as I Am or their previous mv. I’m a lil hungy cause I’m fasting so I’ll listen to the rest of the album later.

Hmm it’s not bad but it is a bit all over the place. I think I will need a few more listens to figure out whether I really like it

    7. the song structure is a bit strange but I can see myself bopping to it after a couple listens

    8. Not good enough imo. Bang Bang is so much better. I don’t know what they were thinking with this song… I’m actually annoyed because I had high hopes for this. The MV looks amazing though, but it’s the song that matters.

The scale of the MV is amazing, omg. I really loved the way that we had something like Kitsch/I AM in this comeback with Bang Bang/Blackhole, with these two titles we could have all members shining too.

The song is really good, ngl i’m weak for IVE songs with all the high notes especially from Liz and Yujin. Maybe the chorus wasn’t as powerful as the pre-chorus, but still a good song with a really ambitious MV. Now i’m going to listen to the whole full album!

I think blackhole should’ve been the first released title track and bang bang second. Blackhole gives album opener and bang bang turns the album upto 100

Why does it look like a fan edit of clips from different IVE MVs but also high budget at the same time? The song itself also sounds like a generic fan make AI song of IVE.

Of the two titles, I definitely prefer Bang Bang. While that felt fresh for IVE, this one feels like retreading ground in a sound they’ve done before (better). People love that sound so I’m not surprised they’re going back. I’m sure it’ll be a hit.

For me, the first listen felt a little structurally uneven. The first chorus lacks some punch and resolution. That “post-chorus” part really helps it feel complete IMO. Having the second chorus essentially be the post-chorus is an interesting decision, but I don’t think it works on its own. The hook comes together by the end but by that point the song’s over.

Regardless of the nomenclature, you’ll typically get the full chorus (in this case chorus 3), then an abbreviated chorus (chorus 1) which cuts early to the bridge, and then the full chorus again to close it out. Maybe that made the song too long, but the current 1, 2, 3 (1+2) is an interesting choice.

I think it’ll work well live/in concerts, but those prechorus runs are gonna be impossible to sing while dancing lol.

    13. For those that feel like the song is missing something, it’s because the climax of the song is about 2 notes too low. Everything builds but then they hold the same note instead of bringing it to its natural conclusion. I’m guessing it’s intentional and there’s some kind of musical motif with anti-drops being a (very overused) thing and the song being called „BLACKHOLE“. Unfortunately it makes the song just feel kind of loud and empty.

The queens of Arena Pop really deserved better production on this one.

    14. idk every time an IVE comeback comes around I listen, go “yeah that was fine,” and then within three days I’ve listened to it a thousand times. can already kinda tell that this one is going to burrow into my brain in the same way.
