      I mean, yeah? Any cursory glance at pretty much any online community that involved Democratic voters in 2024 showed that it was a massive fracture point inside the party.

      I keep seeing people say this, but I’ve never seen data on it. I guess it would be hard to poll, but it was polled prior to the election and never ranked that high as an issue.

      Democrats are just fundamentally against actual campaigning.

      The very idea of trying to be appealing to voters is totally against the ideology of the Democratic Party. What the Democrats call campaigning is just a way to funnel money to an army of parasitic consultants. The party’s ideas about what is „serious“ versus what is populist (which they think is synonymous with evil, naive, and stupid) cause them to constantly favor candidates who are utter losers with negative charisma who mainly convince people that it’s all pointless and they shouldn’t bother voting because it won’t accomplish anything.

      The Democratic Party is just opposed to the idea that voting should mean anything, and their empty suit candidates reflect that ideology.

      It’s not surprising that there are still Democrat fans of genocide in here blaming Russia and Putin. I didn’t realize Putin made Biden sell arms to Israel, give them aid, and demonize protestors. That obviously worked in the Democrats favor in the 2024 election, right? I’m sure it’ll be more of the same in 2028.

      I also think that it is a bigger symptom of the progressive base of the party starting to be more outwardly vocal about them not feeling heard by the party. Between the coronation of Harris after Biden dropped out, to the ignoring of the massive protest votes against Biden during the primary, I can see lots of people saying “the democrats don’t deserve my vote just because they’re not Trump.”

      Folks are seeing this and still trying to act smug in the comments. It’s easy to punch down and blame others but when it’s time to hold the DNC accountable folks get quiet. If you want to win elections, you have to cater to your base. But Democrats would rather lose than take a stance that’s against their corporate overlords.

      Whats clear from the comments in this section is that die hard liberals are truly incapable of reflecting on their politics and strategy. Yes the nation under Democratic leadership would look better than it does now, but the same systems that allowed for ICE to extrajudicially murder people, for federal courts to hamper societal progress, and for politicians to hand control of our public institutions to rich pedophiles would still be in place.

      Since 2008, the nation has slowly awakened to the fact that this system itself is not a tenable way to order our society. The average person is working more and benefiting less. Every aspect of our society from education to healthcare to food has gotten worse. And as much as Trump has accelerated this decline, the downward trend started way before him!

      The DNC’s argument isn’t that we need a new system, its that they should be in charge of the system. So how do you expect a voting population who clearly wants to see a new system in place to come out in droves to support more of the same system? The DNC made unforced error after unforced error in 2024. No one forced the DNC to rally behind Israel. No one forced the DNC to point to the Dow Jones as proof that the economy is actually great when the average person was feeling the pinch. No one forced the DNC to lean right and audition for conservative votes.

      Until I see liberals actually talking about the failings of their overpaid consultants and how it led to a swing to Trump among white female voters and latino voters, anything they have to say about Gaza is just loser talk.

      Most of these Democrats are still out there funding Israel and being complicit to the genocide in Gaza. They could have had a Palestinian and an Israeli show up at the DNC convention and denounce the war from both parties but instead the DNC were like Nah.

      When are we gonna discuss how badly the DNC botched the entirety of the 2024 cycle? Probably never, since they were never willing to discuss 2016 or 2020 either. Biden won in 2020 as a rejection of Trump’s covid policies. That’s it. Once he got into office, he was ineffectual the whole time. Dude showed visible signs of dementia and then reneged on his own promise not to run again in 24 (a politician reneging on a promise. Imagine that). Then Harris, who was so unpopular in 2020 that she withdrew before freaking Iowa, was anointed without a primary. Harris was never popular and never really gave anyone a reason to support her.

      Don’t get me twisted, I voted for Harris in 24. I knew even a soggy slice of bread would be better than Trump. The electorate biffed it big time by picking Trump. Ignorant people got hoodwinked by a con artist, again. You know who else biffed it? The DoJ, who failed to convict Trump quickly enough, and who failed to enforce ANY consequences on Trump even after he was convicted. We have a 34-time felon sitting in the Oval Office, and those are just the charges that have stuck. Hell, freaking Jeb Bush could have been the (D) nominee, and I would have voted for him over Trump. Speaking of which, when Dick motherfucking Cheney endorses a Democrat, the Democrats need to rebuke that endorsement, full stop. The Dems have a war crime issue because they are COMPLICIT in war crimes.

      Since 2016, the Democrats have not given voters any reason to vote *for* Dems, other than not being Trump. Hilary had a decent policy platform, but she was the embodiment of insider politics, which voters rejected. Yes, I voted for Hilary, and I think she would have been a good president, certainly better than Trump… She was never a likeable candidate, though, and the DNC undemocratically sabotaged Bernie. 2020 and 2024, what platform? The little platform that Biden had (student loan forgiveness, legalizing cannabis) didn’t stick. Harris‘ platform was „I’m the Democrat“.

      When will the Democrats take responsibility for their own incompetence?

      I don’t know why those voters couldn’t see that Kamala was going to be better for the Palestinian people than Trump. Now Trump’s talking about developing Gaza into the „Riviera of the Middle East“. I’m sure that plan doesn’t include more genocide. /s

      Regardless the Democrats are controlled by centrists that hate that they have to deal with a liberal base.
