Tbh, this seems like a healthy relationship. As long as they both talked about it and agreed.

This sounds like a non issue. If they discussed it beforehand, and this was the only window they could do it, then that happens. It sucks, but it happens.

Also, at the risk of being flippant, I highly doubt this will be the last BAFTA Rose Byrne wins.

  3. From the interview I saw where she talked about it – one of their kids wanted to go to the expo. So if you take away the fact that this is a celebrity couple and think about them having ‘regular’ jobs etc this is nothing to make a big deal about. Mommy had a work thing and dad took the kiddos to an expo they wanted to go to. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

  4. If she’s not mad, then it’s fine. It’s none of anyone else’s business.

  5. He should have just come down here to Florida when they were falling out of the trees. He could have had his pick for free.

  6. I never even considered it wasn’t a joint parenting decision. If anything I was just upset that I wasn’t there for the day he was to go “oh wow no way” to myself if I saw him.

I thought the whole story was very funny.

If he’s doing something for their kids, then that comes first. It shouldn’t be shamed at all.

Of course if they are fine with it, that’s all that matters. But it does seem a bit of an odd choice. They are wealthy and could probably fly off to a reptile expo somewhere in the world whenever they want. Cool that they want to support their kids’ interests, but I would have probably said “hey guys, mom might be winning a big important award so we are changing our plans and going to a different expo next week”.

  9. He was being a good dad. Also, bearded dragons are awesome! Way cooler than a trophy.

It’s also just the Globes, everyone in hollywood knows how little they mean and that’s its just a party.

Literally a hilarious punchline to her acceptance speech. A joke so good that if you wrote it, people would call it outlandish.

  12. As Ricky Gervais said, “… especially if your studio has already paid for it [the award]”

It’s just work. None of the actors want to be there. They’re marketing themselves and building their brand.

  13. Not a big deal but still weird. Who doesn’t go to an awards show where your spouse is a likely contender? Just odd. If they truly prioritized the kids getting to an expo, those must be some awfully spoiled kids.

  14. It was the Golden Globes. It was like missing your third cousin twice removed bar mitzvah.

People were upset about that? It clearly wasn’t an issue to her, so it shouldn’t be an issue to anybody
