Seeing that in person, and then later on realizing that the earth would fit inside of the prominence that we saw, pictures here on the bottom of the sun, was a truly awe inspiring and humbling moment.

I remember the prominence at 6 looking like a lazer dot….

I was outside next to a taxiway on a lawn chair and I remember the hoops and hollers from people all around but the most astonishing thing was the significant drop in temperature. Not to mention, whatever light remained made the world look as though a zombie movie was being shot. After that, I can totally see how our ancestors would be freaking the hell out and ascribing any meaning that would fit an event like this. Utterly astonishing.
