That sounds like a serious maintenance oversight. My best mate had something similar happen to him and his two flatmates. One of them woke up feeling like he was drunk and woke the other two up to help him. They later worked out it was the boiler pumping CO into the flat.
Stories like this make me wonder if I should take a personal CO detector on holidays. I’m sure that’s an overreaction from a probability perspective but does make you think.
