  1. It’s such a good design for a air transportable mobile 155mm howitzer, as is the French CEASAR that seems to have inspired it.

    Aside: I looked at US pilot programs for similar, and they’re frankly embarrassing. Designed for parking in one spot, require auxiliary ammo trucks, difficult access to the breach. US military procurement is a mess of requirement creep and bureaucracy, and in this case, still haven’t figured out shoot and scoot means shoot and scoot. 3-4 rounds down range until counterbattery radars mean one has to shift. I’m sure there was some arty branch general pointing to the Ceasar or Bogdana and saying „we need those, and can make them for under $2M each“, and was shouted down by the bureaucracy.

    Ukraine needs them more right now so I’m glad that’s where they are.
