      The EU blue passport is also in English! But there isn’t any EU country where English is the first official language. Shouldn’t the official language of Europe be German?

      This was just a citizens initiative that was registered, now they have to get enough signatures for the process to go forward. It seems that they’re not open for signatures yet, though, but remember to sign when they are.

      Can someone tell me if this is genuinely a good thing? I have this feeling that federelisation of EU can be both bad and good, but which one is it more?

      Regards from an IT professional with 35 years experience in software development and cybersecurity, rather than knowing who to use a particular app and its particular search parameters.

      I don’t really see the point of removing the individuality and varied art styles of EU members’ passports. It achieves nothing functionally and just makes everything more boring. It’s fun to see the various designs and compare them with people from other countries. The worst part of federalism is this type of stuff that just negates multiculturalism for absolutely zero return.

      Pointless gesturing. Other countries dont recognise the passport as anything but a product of the original country.

      Even if I like being an EU citizen a lot, I wouldn’t get it.

      One of my favourite things while waiting to board on a plane is observing what people have on their passports. Coats of arms are very interesting to watch; and also it gives a little bit of variety in looks. The EU name is already part of the design anyway in most passports, I think.
