This article looks at how AI is shaking up video production in 2026, from early planning stuff like helping with scripts and storyboards, to cool tools that turn text into video clips super fast for testing ideas. It also covers editing perks like voiceovers that sound real, automatic captions, and stats that show what grabs viewers‘ attention. All this makes things quicker and cheaper, letting even small teams or solo creators make pro-level stuff, but it gets people talking about right and wrong, changing jobs, and keeping the real creative side alive.

What do you think video making will look like by 2030?

    2. When I find I’m watching an AI video on YT right now, I tend to stop and feel a bit tricked. There’s no doubt the bulk of production will move to it though, like factories for making clothes versus someone making them by hand. But clear labelling will be important to be people, like a Human Made logo.

    3. I teach video production in a bachelor course. AI is integrated in everything we do. From idea generation, to script writing including keeping track of character arcs, plot points, etc. to story boarding. We send out AI agents to do location scouting using Google maps. We do virtual production with AI generated backgrounds. And, this year, we are doing fully AI generated movies.

Seriously, I feel sorry for students that graduated a couple of years ago because they will be way behind.

I despise most AI-related things and wish humanity would pull its collective head out of its ass and realize that fake shit is always fake shit.

I increasingly find that when I start to watch a movie or series that it has scripts written by AI and I instantly lose interest. Old movies really shine because they didn’t have any AI slop involved. People can tell, even if it’s just because they seem uninteresting and boring, and I can see an increasing number of people turned off by anything corrupted by AI.

You guys can experience the future at r/stablediffusion. It’s insane how far home models have come, let alone SOTA.
