I wonder if that high concentration of red hair in  western Norway has anything to do with an influx of captives from the British isles. When I was in Ireland I was told that red hair originated with the Vikings but the fact that The only part of Scandinavia with a high concentration of redheads is in the spot that is closest to the British Isles makes me wonder.

Is there a genetic connection between the western and eastern groups. Are they both from the same ancient group that was pushed to the edges of Europe as other groups marginalised them?

I once learned, when I had antropology, (studied Geography) that the viking red hair cluster comes from the Russian/Asian part of the world and the red haired Irish descend from the vikings.

It’s funny, but I used to have a read beard when I was younger. Now if I grow my, it’s grey.
My hair was never red though, dark brown actually.
