    1. This is a general issue all over the world. Not just Japan. In fact, it sounds like Japanese have a lower standard than western women.

What is it with the height difference thing in Japan? Hardly see any couples out there who don’t have a head to shoulder height difference or greater.

      $32k USD salary and 5.5’

That’s like a below average height **part time** McDonalds worker in California (team members start at $22/h up to $68/h for manager)

5mil a year is actually realistic at least. I have met my wife’s girlfriends that are holding out for guys that make 10mil+.

I would be a god in Japan. 183 cm tall and ¥31,000,000. Was just there last week. The ladies are petite! I have never seen so many 5cm+ platform shoes/boots in my life!

What are people doing at 35+ age that doesn’t pay them over 5M yen a year?

      That’s…. Pretty reasonable?

I mean idk the Japanese dating/marriage culture but those standards are like 90% of the dudes in America (personalities may drastically vary)

    8. surprised to find out the average salary for that age band is actually around the ¥5mil, seems shockingly low, going through the shopping malls seeing consumers leaving with handfuls of goods I was assuming the average consumer must be earning much more than myself, apparently not.

The issue is men in those filter won’t want to marry the women in above bracket as they can bear risk on child birth. That’s why aged women rarely find ‘partner’ that takes them seriously. There is very few exception, usually either side has medal of honors or taking compromises

I live in a city of 500,000 and entered as many variables into chatgpt that we could possibly think of. Like my sociol circles, professional circles, age, number of single woman, number of years I’ve been here, appropriate age range, speaks English, etc etc etc. chatgpt estimated that there is between 0 and 2 probable partners left that I haven’t encorunterd yet. 0 to 2.

Turns out he was right. An old acquaintance Actually got divorce a year ago and we ran into each other by chance and hit it off.. but I had given up hope of meeting an age appropriate single woman in my city a nearly a year ago.

Best I can do is a 29 million yen salary and 165cm. Guess that rules me out

Women and fixation on height. They don’t want „short sons“. With girls, they couldn’t care less.

On the bright side, they’re more lax on height and income. Western women only seek 6 ft+ and must make at least six figures.

Wait, 1.70m?! Is that tall in Japan? Impossible, I’m considered short at almost 1.80m, my whole family is around 1.90m. Is that true?

Holy, I thought Japanese Women required a minimum of ¥5M annual income was just a joke

      *cries in 2M
