MAGA was never a moral movement. It’s always been tribalism and racism.

    2. I notice that too. The right can no longer deny the moral depravity of it all, but he’s still doing their bidding, or something like that. Yes, it never stops.

    3. Is it called a “collapse” if a sinkhole opens up underneath a pile of rubble and then a gas leak sets the whole thing on fire?

    4. Mindless_Listen7622 on

MAGA’s „morality“ is whatever their Lord and Savior Donald Trump says it is. They ape and imitate him in all things. Since their cult leader has no moral compass, they have no moral compass.

„He didn’t do it. If he did, it wasn’t his fault. And also, what’s the big deal?“

      It was simply revealing.

All those years of wanting to „expose the pedophiles“ IMMEDIATELY switch to ‚protect pedophile Trump“ as soon as it was clear he was the biggest offender in the files.

They have ZERO morals. They worship Trump and will do anything for him, including supporting the biggest pedophile cover up in American history.

I think the issue is does it matter. Trump et al probably don’t need them anymore they have done their job and it’s questionable now as to whether the US will get its democracy back.

MAGA morality is basically the lazy pursuit of stupidity and sadism.

    9. I just don’t understand how so many people can be so absolutely braindead, to vote against their own interests, to question facts and truths, all because they’ve bought into some „us vs them“ when the them is fellow Americans. The rest of the world, the sane people in the US, we’re all just baffled by it all. I truly never thought there would be a day where so many people on this planet would be so completely void of all intelliect and reason

      1. Don’t tread on me- just a slogan for incels, not really a thing

False. Moral collapse implied that they had any principles in the first place. They didn’t. Like **all** conservative movements, the things they say they care about are only tools to acquire power. The only objective of conservative movements is to seize power and wealth. Full stop. Anything they say in service of that end is merely rhetoric.

    12. Collapse? These twats had no morals in the fist place. They complained about Bill Clinton for 25 fucking years only to go balls deep on Trump. If you’re just now realizing the hypocrisy then I don’t know what to tell you.

    13. Their morality didn’t collapse. Their morality is based on might-makes-right and not on human empathy. It might feel like some sort of collapse, but they’ve been pretty consistent this whole time. They don’t care what any of the people in power do, because the people in power can’t do anything wrong in their eyes.

The fact that a significant percentage of the population views the world in the complete opposite way as me has been an interesting thing to grapple with.

    14. Not super surprising.  This is much if the same demographic that believes that if you don’t believe in God, that you can’t possibly have a moral code.  A lot of people’s morals don’t come from within, but from what they are told – and most right wing leaders are awfully quiet or worse – misrepresenting the contents of the files.

Christian Nationalism is the antithesis of Christianity. It’s idolatrous and iniquitous.

      >there is no behavior Trump’s GOP sees as *too* wrong to vote for. In late July 2025, [almost half of Republicans](https://www.thedailybeast.com/half-of-republicans-would-still-vote-for-trump-if-implicated-in-epstein-crimes/) said they would keep voting for Trump [even if he were](https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/trump-epstein-republican-voters/) “officially implicated in Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking activities.” Crime is legal, where right-wingers are concerned, however heinous the crime is.

Who knew that the deplorables were actually elitists who think they are above the law.

    17. If we ever get a dem president again I want to seenside by side comparisons of trumps office run.

    18. If you truly have morals they are immovable. So it hasn’t collapsed. It was never there to begin with.

      Not a collapse

It is like saying the skyscraper I built in my back yard collapse

It was never there to begin with

    20. MAGA supporters don’t have morals just hatred brainwashed into them

MAGA politicians don’t have morals, just the desire for power.

    21. LingonberryHot8521 on

Not so much a moral collapse as it is a revelation of moral depravity.

If you’ve been paying attention to either online MAGA interpersonal disucssions or the way they talk IRL, they WANT to groom children into sex-maids and breeders. The WANT to remove all rights and liberties from women of any ethnic background. They have varying expressions of this from not overtly repugnant ranging to Nick Fuentes wanting all women (of breeding age so that means kids too) put into concentration camps.

      It’s not a secret.

    22. There is no moral collapse when the behaviour is normalised…

      I put forward

Them : Adventures with Extremists by Jon Robson as a modern day illustration of what humanity does with and to one another in its private societies…

    23. WheeForEffort on

Moral collapse is often associated with the end of empire. The whole MAGA movements purpose is to accelerate the end of the liberal world order to hasten whatever comes next. They’re basically punching the accelerator at the off ramp because they think that gives them control in the next order that arises. As it turns out it just makes them immoral, and less worthy of power, not more deserving of power. It’s on us to ensure that.

    24. PM_ME_UR_SNARES on

My MAGA frat bro stepbrother went from “release the files” to “it doesn’t really affect my life” overnight…there is not a bottom to these fascist fucks values. We have to demand the people with redeemable qualities choose redemption or reject them from our lives at this point.

    25. I get so excited to talk to one on reddit whenever I find one.

You can humiliate them a thousand different ways.

They used to have clean-cut talking points for everything. Now they don’t know what to believe, but are certain of one thing. Trump is still amazing and did nothing wrong.

Now they will just say “I don’t know!!!” to SO many different questions.

One Trumper DM’d me claiming he wanted to have a calm rational debate about Alex Pretti. He spent many lines of text explaining how Pretti meetsthe definition of a terrorist because he damaged government property for a political cause and was also carrying a firearm illegally. So it’s fair to call him a terrorist.

When I asked him if the Jan. 6 people were terrorists since they also damaged public property for a political cause and were illegally carrying guns, he immediately said there’s no point in talking to me because I’m crazy and he wished me the best.

Fucking wimp thinking he could make a rational argument… He put so much effort into his argument and I blew on it and it fell apart.

    26. AdHopeful3801 on

„Moral collapse“ implies the existence of a moral structure in the first place.

    27. They never had a morals. Well, no desirable ones.

Talarico said it beautifully, “Don’t tell me what you believe. Show me how you treat others and I’ll tell you what you believe.”

    28. DohReignMeme on

There’s no „moral collapse“ of the MAGOP (sure seems like a Biblical name out of Revelation). A collapse suggests there was a moral framework to begin with, and it’s never been about „Family Values“ „Moral Majority“ or any of that – those were all marketing slogans for white supremacy, which is inherently immoral.
