It’s time for Canada and all other countries hit with these tariffs to bleed the American taxpayers dry and force a full and total refund of every cent stolen with the illegal tariffs, on top of suing for damages over and above the tariff amounts.

Which of the tariffs on us are under the Emergency powers act and which ones aren’t?  It’s not all of them, right?

    3. Question, does the trump admin actually have to listen to this ruling? They have proven they don’t really care what the rules are and will find every loophole in the book and exploit it.

If they ignore this, what are the consequences really?

All of the leaks that Trump is likely to authorize attacking Iran as soon as this weekend make sense given the timing of this decision – to try and distract from his entire economic strategy being effectively struck down, he will just low key start a war with Iran.

I’m proud of the countries that were aware of the law and held the line in a strong way. Maybe the US isn’t doomed after all if the courts can still act in such a way.

This will be interesting. His usual strategy is to simply defy court orders until it gets to the supreme court and they waffle on it or find in his favour. This time there’s nowhere else he can appeal to, but he’s tied these tariffs to his identity this term, so it could play out in some odd ways.

This is going to be a major victory for Carney as well for not accepting a deal with unfavourable terms for Canada. I don’t foresee his popularity declining anytime in the near future

Anyone who has US debt must be nervous. This will cost a fortune to repay and will have to come from debt. Get out now.

This is good news for Canada, but not necessarily good news for Carney.

Medium-term, if the threat of the USA declines in the minds of voters because tariffs go away, then it may soften his coalition

NGL, I thought they’d uphold the tariffs. I like the dissent – „but we might have to repay all that money!“ GD, judges are supposed to care about law, not the consequences of striking down illegal actions. This supreme court is so damned corrupt.

I guess we’ll see what happens. I don’t, even for a second, think his agenda has been undone, or that the US will repay a dime. I do wonder how exactly Trump will undermine this ruling.

“The Law” is simply an obstacle for the current administration, and means very little!

Agreements, laws, relationships, and respect are, and will be disregarded. The only predictor of future behaviour is a close review of past behaviour.

Don’t take this ruling too seriously, so let’s keep our foot on the gas pedal until we can’t even see the US in the rear view mirror!
