I support the right to open carry but man why would you ever do it over concealed carry? Just seems dumb and performative.

Open carry is now legal in FL after a court ruled the previous ban as unconstitutional.

I do genuinely hate NYC gun laws. Seen too many people shot (in situations where a firearm could have helped). You have to have a permit to conceal carry in city limits and you can’t use “self defense” as a legitimate reason for a permit. Why else would you want a gun in a city? There’s no hunting to be done

This is why the US and Europe are fundamentally different civilisations and honestly it doesnt make sense anymore to speak of „the west“ when there’s such a large cultural, political and societal gap.

  5. Last updated 2025? Try again. South Carolina got rid of the need for a permit in 2024

  6. That’s the main reason I will never, EVER go to the USA. Guns, the abundance of them, school shootings and everything inbetween – that’s not something I want to witness myself.

I’ll never put my family or myself in a danger like that.

  7. if you don’t think you should require a permit to carry and own and purchase a gun, i don’t trust you with a gun

Supreme court decision changed California’s laws, map needs updating

  9. I get that their logo is supposed to look like binoculars looking at a piggy bank as a ‚watching the money‘ thing.. but it could also be read as ’spying on the fat pigs‘, which even goes reasonably well with the name Visual Capitalist. 😛

As a European, I can never understand this. If the 2nd amendment is for protection against tyrants, wouldn’t a great time be… right now? Or is it just for show?

  11. I think Connecticut banned open carry a year or two ago. Concealed carry technically requires a permit, but it’s the permit you need to even legally own the gun.

  12. I’m very happy living in one of the prohibited states. If I see someone running around with a gun, I’m going to immediately panic on the grounds that it may be a mass shooter.

“I get all my information from a mustache called Visual Capitalist.”

  14. There needa to be a category for *de facto* ban. For states whwre a permit is required but never issued for any practical purposes, ie not the wealthy and connected.

I’m in Texas this week, and while open carry is legal I have noticed that nearly every storefront has a sign saying that open carry is not allowed on the premises.
