  1. When products are sold under a company’s banner, some degree of oversight seems reasonable.

    > The Washington Supreme Court ruled unanimously on Thursday that Amazon.com must face lawsuits by families that lost relatives who died by suicide after consuming a specific chemical they bought from outside vendors on the retailer’s website.

  3. Huh that’s very interesting. A few years ago when I was a vine reviewer Amazon couldn’t care less when I approached them about some highly questionable resins lacking any sort of appropriate labeling, some even being marked non toxic!

I wonder how this might change the products they allow to be sold from here on out.

    Terrific ruling!

„The case is one of many seeking to hold online sales platforms such as Amazon responsible for products sold by third-party vendors.“

The thin end of a wedge by which common sense might be brought to the online world. If the supreme court unanimously rules that online retail platforms have a duty of care to consumers, surely this offers an argument that other online providers have a similar duty of care.

Looking at every-man-jack of them, including Tiktok and YouTube distributing dangerous challenges, lies and slander (challenging existing exemptions they have under the communications decency act 1996).

Lawyers will get bank over this one!
