Sentencing isn’t until April and hes been bailed, so theres a fair chance he won’t even go to prison.
Good. His defence was really flimsy. He seemed like a really unpleasant character.
To any XL bully.owners tempted to swoop in her and argue how safe and lovely your dogs are:
XL bullies and similar dogs are inherently dangerous because they’re bred to be extremely strong dogs with massive crushing jaws.
This means that if they do attack, and this seems to happen quite often, they infect terrible damage.
Plenty of dogs like dachshunds are way more aggressive but they’re far less dangerous because they’re so weak.
XL bullies and the like have the unfortunate combination of a huge capacity for violence with a pronounced tendency to be violent. This makes them very dangerous dogs. Unnecessarily so when there are so many other types of dog out rhere which have the good qualities of xl bullies without the constant underlying threat of murderous violence.

I’m a large breed lover, but it’s a mass undertaking and choosing a breeder and litter takes me hundreds of hours of research because I realise that I owe society that responsibility.
Even in cane corsos I’ll end up traveling hours only to reject the pup because of warning signs.
The fact it’s legal for someone to pick up the paper and just randomly choose a breeder, In fact the warning signs I see are desired for that person, its scary.
It should be along the lines of applying for a shot gun to be able to breed certain breeds, with similar hoops to jump through for the owner.
Of course xl bullies should be illegal but these same owners and breeders are just going to move to other breeds.
Of course if you don’t want jump through those hoops, well a Labrador awaits you.
