That’s fine. Let’s have a purely transactional relationship with the US for a while and see how that goes.

It’s probably for the best. Once the US has a better handle on what it can independently produce, they will return to the table for proper negotiations.
In the meantime, Canada should continue to seek out fair trade deals with China and a variety of the ‚middle nations‘ because they more closely align with core Canadian values.

There are more than three nations in North America, so Canada not being in it wouldn’t make calling the deal NAFTA unreasonable. However, excluding Canada would make the agreement so much weaker than it could be that I’m sure Trump would love it.

More Trump buffoonery. Ignore the man. He will be gone soon enough and maybe Canada will resume doing business with the failing USA…if they’re grateful enough.

sooo a bilateral trade agreement with Mexico then? That’s what he’s talking about? Or all the Caribbean islands?

Um, didn’t Carney already beat him to the punch on this? He just went to talk to Mexico, there’s deals with Peru, Honduras, Chile, Panama, Costa Rica.
This seems like more of his bluster to try to force Canada to take a bad deal, this will not work. He’s glassing america’s economy so badly.

Whatever man.
We can’t control what the US does or doesn’t do. We should continue to operate as such.
