Jetzt ist häusliche Gewalt im von den Taliban geführten Afghanistan legal – solange es keine „gebrochenen Knochen oder offenen Wunden“ gibt

    1. So sad. I think Russia also legalized domestic violence except in cases of severe injury a few years back.

Afghanistan caught in cold war then radicalised by West as a tool and result what we see today.

Afghan were all good before all those things lol

    3. What are we supposed to do to help the women of this country? We tried. The whole world tried. We collectively spilt a lot of blood and wasted a lot of money trying to help them. They chose the fanatics. I don’t want to be rude, but stories like this are super irritating.

Legalizing non-bone-breaking domestic violence isn’t a gray area. It’s just abuse with paperwork. If the law’s standard is no visible damage, then the message is clear, harm is fine as long as it’s hidden.

It’s really hard to describe what experiencing domestic violence does to you on a psychological level beyond just the physical abuse. Not to mention how many people end up not believing survivors or simply blaming them for it. I can’t imagine how much worse the social stigma for these women is there. My heart breaks for them.

    6. Marriage in religious (non-secular) Islam is almost the same as slavery for the woman.

    7. We could have fixed it but the American public wouldn’t have been happy with what that would take

What a tragic situation! Has the US considered trying a 20+ year military intervention to improve the situation?

    9. What’s their deal with women? The men who run these countries have serious mental issues.

    10. WTF is wrong with these religious nutcases? Are they trying to compete with Iran and see who is more ridiculous?

    11. Remember when they told people western soldiers would „defend democracy“ in that 10-year military intervention? Now the main fleet of the Taliban consists of 20.000 – 22.000 U.S. Humvees amidst 50.000 – 75.000+ military vehicles. Many „Defence“ stocks (war company stocks) went 10 X during these ten years, flooding money into the hands of those shameless and psychopathic enough to invest in that rubbish. On the flip side, all these vehicles were payed by tax payers money and have caused a solidification of the Taliban’s suppressive and mysoginistic role towards women.
Just another lie that enriched the rich further while working class‘ and parts of the middle class‘ money had been embezzled, once again.

How much longer will nation’s people accept wars as a means of alleged problem solution when it is always about further increasing money and power of the already way too wealthy and powerful?
How much longer will families accept that their family members „serve“ (yea, slaves do that) as military „personnel“, shooting, mutilating, murdering, and raping, too?
It’s the 21st century and we still let people play pawn on chess boards of the super-wealthy for digits in computers and „national pride“ (goodness, imagine you’re that blinded) ?
Regressive structures in a supposedly modern world.

How do women report and get medical evaluation for open wounds and broken bones?

Are women still allowed to become doctors specifically to treat other women?

Are women allowed to be fully examined by male doctors without their abuser present?

      I would imagine not
