Don’t they have their own union? The Police Federation?
As much as I generally support unions, I’d be quite concerned about one for police lobbying for less accountability rather than higher pay.
The Fed says that a separate organisation would *’dilute their negotiating power’*.
This implies they have some, which isn’t the case. No agreement made by the Fed with the Government is binding, and the negotiations board is made up of Government-approved members.
