The only thing they’ll have left over – in a year – is nuclear weapons.
Sounds more like Russian propaganda for the poor cunts who live inside their borders.

They are barely sustaining the one they have going now. All they need is a new front and someone else to threaten with nuclear war.

Can someone explain how they can even afford this. Plz some genuine convo, not “donkeys and cripples🥴”

I am sure Putin at this point is much more afraid of internal dissent and since people always judge others by what they would do he has to be afraid that NATO will take advantage of his weakness.

I like how the headline runs contrary to the contents of the article.

But but… I thought they were at the edge of financial collapse and ready to lose the war because of it.

What if they think they can conquer the Baltics easily with no political fallout? These are softer targets, and if they believe NATO will shy away, they may claim some sort of grand victory and scale back in Ukraine. Hopefully I am wrong, but this regime is so sick it wouldn’t surprise me.

Lot of people mocking this, but it’s repeatedly proven a mistake to apply Western notions of common sense and rational behaviour to Russian decision making. We wouldn’t be where we are now if Russia hadn’t said „hold my beer“ when westerners said it would be stupid to do x.
Specifically, Russia may decide it is making no headway in Ukraine but that it could acquire leverage against the West elsewhere at a far lower cost.
For example, by seizing a part of the Baltics (full of Russian speakers of course) and demanding the West drop it’s support for Ukraine in exchange for a Russian withdrawal, for example. Or sabotaging undersea cables and refusing to stop unless the West stops supporting Ukraine.

Double down on your poor performance to stay in power. Sometimes wars are continued way past the point they can be won so those in power can stay in power.

No, they can’t/won’t.

All Russia needs to do is send 100 drones every night into EU, and NATO would run out of rockets in 10 days. And they have more than enoug stupid people to be willing to fight for the country, and theyve been at war for more than 10 years now, they have experience and knowledge, which NATO troops lack. Could they take over Poland? Highly unlikely, but they could take over Baltics, and threat other countries with nuclear bombs, since USA would be helping EU/NATO in this case. Pair that with possible National front winner in next French elections, and suddenly NATO and EU would be without nuclear umbrella. It’d be quite a shitty situation for Europe.

Wouldn’t NATO? Europe be closely monitoring any troop and equipment build up near borders?

As long as russia is fighting in Ukraine there is a 0.1% chance that they start another full scale invasion.
Testing nato borders and article 5, probably.
When Russia had the chance to build up again, when ukraine war ends, probably.

I’ve heard this many times. Yes we know they may be coming. No, I doubt it will be within Trumps term. All it would do is draw western allies into an active role in Ukraine and the last thing they need right now is a second front.

Not sure what thier economy would be like if they have another war brewing. Im pretty doubtful they will do shit if ukraine is actively taking back land

From a regime security perspective, I can see this being an option for Putin. It’s obviously a terrible idea from ANY other perspective, but it might put more time on the clock for him, and that’s the main thing he cares about.

I’d like to see them try. open a 2nd front when they can’t win on the 1st front. in my opinion the world has already won as putin has ruined his country for generations. each day only gets better.
but I feel very sorry to ukrainian people. I have contributed directly to them and the purchase of generators.
