Good for community relations this. Can you just steal people’s property now? Because it’s deemed for the “greater good”. Is all the legal basis of each bikes seizure valid

Just because the police are doing something about this now shouldn’t vindicate the fact that communities have been pleading for a crackdown like this for years.
The government ignored them and did nothing until Grace Lynch was killed.
Just banning scramblers isn’t enough. It’s not like these people are taxed and insured. Being illegal isn’t going to stop them. We need the Garda to be granted the ‚tactical contact‘ powers the UK police have. If they run from the Garda they should be able to ram them.
Was up that way walking once. Two fellas on a dirt bike tore down the footpath at speed and everyone had to step aside. Just shook my head and went off to get groceries.
This is a decent result. Now all they have to do is get the little fuckers out in Cherry Orchard and Summer Hill
