      Putin will be afraid of being thwacked by Zelenskyy if they met face to face. And who is to blame him, it’s not fun being kicked to the ground.

      It’s not about real dialog, it’s about making an absurd proposal and then making noise when demands weren’t met.

      Putin and the Kremlin have been clear they’re only willing to negotiate with Zelensky in Moscow…for obvious reasons.

      Kremlin is and has been out of moves since Hostomel. Failure to take Kyiv and remove Zelensky was the beginning and end of the SMO. Everything else is buying time for a miracle.

      Putin will never meet zelensky in person for peace negociations because his whole agenda is making Russia a great and relevant power again. By meeting Zelensky, he would de facto place himself on the same level as the ukrainian leader. This is also why he gladly accepted to foot the red carpet in Alaska. This kind of stunt does make wonderful PR for his international ambitions.
