Batteries have been causing fire in trains too.
I appreciate the safety first principle and yes there has been few cases of self igniting batteries but what are we supposed to do when we travel and the plane has no plug at the seat ?
No batteries in suitcase and cabin, this is going to be a mess
Meaning Japanese airline companies only. JAL, ANA.
Think this is a good idea given how many fires these battery packs cause
Then provide the universal cable, consent plug, and outlet. Don’t ban things without a solution. Also bring back wifi on planes.
ANA already bans their use or at least that was my impression when I flew them domestically in December.
We can still bring them on. That’s the most important thing since most of us need portable batteries when traveling. Even with new phone if I’m walking around all day taking pictures, my phone battery isn’t going to make it until I go to bed.
I’ve also seen signs in hotels here asking us not to leave portable batteries charging when we’re outside our rooms, which seems fair.
Damn that’s gonna be a close one for me
I fly out in two weeks
