Housing prices are going crazy around the world almost everywhere, at least in first world countries. Cyprus is no exception, I pay twice what I was paying 10 years ago.
Wealth inequality is accelerating globally.
The elite parasites feel so untouchable at this point, they are bragging about it.
It will not stop. They are getting what they want one way or another, and they want everything. It will never be enough.
Every major economy printed a ton of currency during covid, this has a ripple effect on property prices/groceries/inflation globally. The market only dies when there isn’t any demand or a recession.
It’s global trend. Limassol is no exception. Housing prices will keep rising. And if you look around the world, new generations can’t afford to buy homes. The trend is that large capital owners are buying up housing and renting it out — and it’s not even about foreigners buying it up, everyone with money is buying it.
Acceptance is defeat. And we’ve lost.
Direct flights to and from Kazakhstan must be accommodated in some way.
Were you actually expecting Limassol to have stayed frozen in the 1990s?
Stop? It hasnt even started. Wdym by residents? Whats wrong with moving to a village?
Building new houses adds quantity therefore satisfies the demand driving the prices down. You’re angry at the wrong component of the equation.
we need even more neoliberalism obviously
If they are building skyscrapers for the rich, won’t that make regular property available for the rest?
Can we stop pretending Limassol current population isn’t benefiting from rising property prices? Anyone who had property here had unlocked infinite money glitch. Also skyscrapers are definitely better in terms of land usage then bunch of regular houses that will start falling apart ten years later
Imagine how much more expensive Limassol would be without the new units. New construction is good
U mean when will money stop ruling tge world? Not anytime soon unless Ai takes over
building skysrapers with no proper master city planning, no supporting utility services, no social amenities, no green belts, no efficient transport systems and network.
what could ever go wrong?
next post will be, how terrible the traffic in limassol is.
Even in Greece, the housing prices are out of control. A 45 square meter apartment, can cost over 200.000€. It’s insane. But the rich, are getting richer and the poor are becoming poorer. So nobody cares.
Same thing is happening to Albania. It’s not about development, rich people have so much cash in their hands that to them is just paper. They need to do something with it. Not to mention money laundering from tax evasion, stolen government money, investment and even illegal related activities. They are kicking us out of our country or inside mainland and basically whenever land is for the moment worthless.
