He doesn’t need actual data to expose his idiocy. The dumbass claims that China sells us wind turbine parts but doesn’t use one single wind turbine itself – this is a lie so overtly stupid it’s almost astonishing. China is literally the world leader in wind energy production.

The savings stretch to every part of the economy – manufacturing, every single office, every single home, recharging EV’s, street lighting, electric train costs, shops, pubs and eateries.

Well that’s part of the price cost reduction. When you generate your own power even in part your prices come down. Also excess supply tend to get fed back into the system reducing prices for others.

Fun fact, Trump can’t control local regulations like this. Can’t speak for Australia but in the USA with all the HOA’s and other regulatory bullshit more often then not private power generation is stifled for us effect on „appearances.“

Basically HOAs say it looks bad and often doesn’t allow a person to install solar panels on the roof or wind turbines in their yards. It’s stupid as fuck.

As an Aussie, I think that South Australia is doing brilliantly. Their focus & leadership on renewables is praiseworthy and they are reaping the rewards as a State.

That said, articles like this need to be honest. South Australia has two electricity „interconnections“ with Victoria (one of the States beside it) through which it takes 25%-50% of the State’s load at times. Much of that energy from Victoria is still generated by coal fired power stations.

So it is doing really well & the State itself will likely be 100% renewable next year, but that will still be underpinned by the ability to draw from coal fired power stations as needed at times. This will only change as Victoria moves towards more renewables, because it is unlikely to make financial sense for South Australia to replace the ability to draw from Victoria with more battery capacity that is rarely used.
