It’s nice to see the judiciary responding with a little bit of fire. Kudos to this judge.

    > A federal judge on Monday compared the Trump administration to George Orwell’s Ministry of Truth from 1984, quoting the fictional dystopian agency’s motto “Ignorance Is Strength” in her simmering order to restore all mentions of slavery that were removed from a Philadelphia landmark.

    >In her ruling, District Judge Cynthia Rufe ordered the federal government to return all exhibit materials at Philadelphia’s President’s House on Independence Mall.

    >*“As if the Ministry of Truth in George Orwell’s 1984 now existed, with its motto ‘Ignorance is Strength,’ this Court is now asked to determine whether the federal government has the power it claims — to dissemble and disassemble historical truths when it has some domain over historical facts,” she wrote Monday. “It does not.”*

  2. We need an exhibit of every crime, every settled lawsuit, every civil ruling, every penalty, every constitutional violation, the emoluments, every traitorous action of Donald Trump.

The sex scandals, the rapes, the insurrection, the scams, the grifts, all of it.

Put it in the Smithsonian when he is removed from office.

  3. I have a feeling we’re going to (continue to) quote Orwell’s novel as we get closer to the mid-terms and as long as this regime is in place.

*“War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength.”*, *“If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face—for ever.”*, *“It was merely the substitution of one piece of nonsense for another.”, “If you kept the small rules you could break the big ones.”, „To die hating them, that was freedom.”*

People must learn form history and remember, hiding history just means we want people to remain ignorant.

Trump is so stupid he possibly thinks that Orwell is the guy with glasses on popcorn packages.

Good- don’t let them set the precedent that it’s okay to “forget.” Just like we shouldn’t with them.

The Supreme Court might be compromised, but the lower levels I believe are mostly on center-left side thanks to Biden. He may have played a big part in royally fucking us, but his saving grace may be the federal courts slowing down this descent into fascism long enough for us to have hopes that the midterms will be mostly fair.

  8. The question is, will they? Will anyone follow the rule of law. Will anyone stand up to this wanna be king.

  9. Yes everybody should remember the democrats who owned slaves and created the Confederacy and KKk.

  10. Orwell intended the book to be a satire, a Jonathan Swift-style treatise of an deal taken to its most ridiculous extreme.

And now here we are, listening to computer-generated music while the President takes credit for solving problems he created and personal conversations are used to throw people in jail.

All we need is the machine that causes back-breaking pain and we’ll be all set.

  11. How much did this state sponsored vandalism cost? How much will the repairs cost?

That’s cool and all, but he isn’t going to do it. Why? Because he knows from experience that ignoring court orders has no consequences.
