Kristi Noem is squeezing the most powerful social media companies to unmask Americans who criticize ICE agents.
The Department of Homeland Security has sent out hundreds of subpoenas to the largest technology firms in Silicon Valley demanding the names, email addresses, and phone numbers for online accounts linked to anti-ICE activity, according to a bombshell report from the New York Times.
Google, Meta, Reddit, X and Discord have received subpoenas in recent months. All of the companies except Discord have begun complying with at least some of the DHS requests.
