Ich weiß, das ist ein langer Weg, aber Reddit scheint der PERFEKTE Ort zu sein, um ein paar zufällige Wissensquests zu lösen!
Ich habe mehrere Jahre in einem Jugendcamp in den Bergen Kaliforniens gearbeitet und versucht, etwas von seiner coolen Geschichte am Leben zu erhalten.
Wir haben eine Straßenlaterne aus Kopenhagen mit Blick auf den See!
(Ich habe Screenshots von der Geschichte gemacht und sie hier hinzugefügt, aber ich werde sehen, ob ich den Text später auf meinem Computer zum Beitrag hinzufügen kann.)
Als Gegengeschenk an die Stadt Kopenhagen schickte das Lager "Zwei Tonnen Freundschaft": ein Stück eines Riesenmammutbaums vom Grundstück. Ein weiterer Ausschnitt des Lagers ist im Büro ausgestellt, aber ich konnte kein Foto davon machen, also habe ich ähnliche Bilder beigefügt, um die Erinnerungen zu wecken.
Weiß jemand, wo die Baumscheibe gelandet ist? Vielleicht ein Museum? Oder ein Bürogebäude?
Ich möchte diese Geschichte und Geschichte herausfinden und sie den Menschen wieder in den Vordergrund rücken.

YMCA is known as KFUM in Denmark, I would recommend reaching out to them.
Try asking [Skovskolen](https://skovskolen.ku.dk) It is The Forest and Landscape College, University of Copenhagen. They might have the tree slice or know where it is.
I just bought access to Newspapers. Com and found an article from July 31, 1966 saying „…it is 14″ thick… is 6 feet 4 inches in diameter and over 1,000 years old…“
It hadn’t been sent yet but was going to be sent the next week. It had to be cleared with the State Department of Forestry.
Does someone have access to Danish newspapers that might have reported it arriving in 1966?

The Green Museum is Denmark’s national museum for hunting, forestry, agriculture and food.
Went to the forestry and landscaping college myself, and im pretty sure they do not have the slice.
IIRC i recall seeing a large sequoia slice at the Museum of forestry, formerly located in Hørsholm, but im not sure whether its the friendship slice. It is now moved in to ‚Det grønne musem‘ in Auning, they could be worth contacting.
The clips you posted mentioned Consul Frode Schoen, which i may suspect be Frode Schön a former danish ambassador from Ribe, that would be around at the time.
A scholarship was made in his name ‚Frode Schön og hustru legatet‘ where the board might know some of his story. Ripensersamfundet, a local history- and resident association, may be helpful if this is actually the same guy.
