Summary of the main reform proposals put on referendum:
✓ Executive Term Limits:
No individual can serve as Prime Minister for more than two terms or 10 years total. The PM also cannot simultaneously serve as a party chief.
✓ Bicameral Parliament:
A new 100-seat Upper House will be established. Seats will be allocated proportionally based on each party’s national vote share in the general election.
✓ Caretaker Government:
The neutral caretaker government system for conducting national elections will be constitutionally reinstated.
✓ Judicial Independence:
The Supreme Court will gain full constitutional freedom, with the Chief Justice (appointed from the Appellate Division) having sole authority over High Court appointments.
✓ Presidential Power:
The President’s authority will be expanded to include independent power to appoint heads of institutions like the National Human Rights Commission and the Anti-Corruption Commission.
✓ Opposition & Representation:
1. The Deputy Speaker and several parliamentary committee chairs must be elected from the opposition party.
2. Reserved seats for women in parliament will be increased to 100.
✓ Fundamental Principles:
State guiding principles will shift toward equality, human dignity, social justice, and religious freedom. The official nationality will change from „Bengali“ to „Bangladeshi“.

Nothing will change there though. Parties like Jamat would be banned in any self respecting nation but bangladesh is well bangladesh

But they’ve disappeared of course since the uprising
Nobody to spare the 8% non-Muslims in this country now
